People always exaclaim that "they can't draw". This annoys me. Drawing does not have to be accurate. It does not have to be perfect. Art is not perfect. Art, if anything, is imperfection. Flaws, mistakes, problems, frustration. They say they can't draw, because they cannot create on paper what they see in their mind. They think two-dimensional, they expect two-dimensional. If they were only a little more accepting. You cannot always create exactly what you see. See, in an aritst's mind, the images are there, but not always on the paper, canvas, etc. Sometimes they come out, sometimes they can't. Sometimes they're wrong. Innacurate. Our pictures will never match the true images of discord in the mind. We accept that the hand cannot always follow the mind, but we still try, nonetheless. |
